I often notice my personality switches when I write or speak in different languages.

Probably because I write lyrics in Chinese, my Chinese writing tends to be more mournfully poetic and emotionally captivating, and you might find lots of wordplay and rhyming in it (I’ve even caught myself doing so while texting my friends).

Whereas English feels more natural when it comes to expressing my analytical thoughts. Since I consume mostly non-fiction content in English — whether it’s blog posts, books, podcasts, or as you might have guessed, Reels — it’s where I find it easier to articulate myself.

Unfortunately, at the time being, no tool is good enough to capture all the nuances and fully translate my message to another. So I would rather keep my writing in their original form.

And the choice is yours!
